Ingredients

  • cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • cup Allulose See post for other substitutions
  • pinch Salt
  • 2 cups Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • ½ tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • Optional garnishes: Whipped cream, Sugar Free Marshmallows, crushed sugar free mints, etc

Instructions

  • In a small pot, whisk together the cocoa powder, sweetener, and salt.
  • Add the almond milk - a little at a time - whisking to fully incorporate the dry ingredients.
  • Heat over medium low heat - whisking constantly - until the mixture is steaming hot, but not boiling.
  • Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  • Divide hot chocolate into 2 mugs, garnish as desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

34 grams of carbs per serving come from the sugar alcohols in the allulose. Add that to the 6 grams of fiber, and you have 40 grams of deductible carbs - leaving you with 3 net grams of carbs per serving.
