This Easy Greek Salad Skewers Recipe comes together in just minutes, and is sure to be a hit at any party. Bonus: This delicious finger food is not only gluten free, it’s low carb & keto friendly!

A tray of Greek Salad Appetizer Skewers with cucumbers, tomatoes, kalamata olives, and marinated feta cheese.

I went on a big finger food appetizers kick lately, and I’m in the process of getting those small bite appetizers up on the 3 food blogs.

Right now, I’d love to share my Greek salad skewers recipe!

This recipe came about as a way to use up a big block of feta that we’d had on hand, and it’s been a favourite ever since!

We marinate the feta cheese in a Greek vinaigrette. This was designed around our favourite Greek dressing for the actual salad this light appetizer was inspired by.

A few other ingredients are threaded onto skewers with the marinated cheese, and boom - you’ve got the perfect appetizer!

Bake this as a small batch for a family dinner or small cocktail party, or in larger batches for social gatherings.

I particularly like these Greek salad kebabs for warmer weather get togethers - BBQs, picnics, pool parties, even summer wedding receptions, baby showers, or bridal showers.

Greek salad is a favorite salad of many, so it shouldn’t be surprising that these are a crowd pleaser!

As low carb, easy appetizers, these are a perfect way to provide an option for a wide range of people with dietary restrictions - they’re very low carb - keto friendly! - AND gluten free.

Oh, and as far as the carb count goes?

After subtracting the 1 gram of fiber, these skewers come in at only 1 gram of net carbs per skewer!

I love them as-is, but you could also serve these tasty bites with my Homemade Tzatziki Sauce!

A single Greek salad skewer, with cucumber, marinated feta cheese, a cherry tomato, and kalamata olives.

    Ingredients

This recipe uses super simple ingredients that should be easy to find in almost any grocery store.

    A few notes for you:

    Marinated Feta

Before setting up to thread your Greek salad kabobs, you’ll want to get your marinated feta together. For that, you’ll need:

Feta cheese - Look for a creamy feta cheese, not overly crumbly. You want the large cubes to stay on the stick without falling apart!

Note: You can use bocconcini - mini mozzarella balls - if you can’t find a good Feta option.

    Extra virgin olive oil
Red wine vinegar (you can use lemon juice)
Dried Oregano (You can use 1 ½ teaspoon fresh oregano leaves if you prefer)
    Dijon mustard
    Garlic clove
    Fresh Ground Black Pepper
    Sea salt or kosher salt

    Skewers

Finally, there’s the simple greek salad skewers, which only need 3 additional ingredients:

English Cucumber - you can use 1 inch pieces of baby cucumbers if you prefer.

Grape Tomatoes - you can use cherry tomatoes if needed

Kalamata Olives - you can use other Greek olives or even black olives, if you prefer - just make sure they’re pitted!

    Bamboo Skewers

I like to use wooden skewers, rather than metal skewers for appetizer skewers. They look better and are more comfortable to eat with, IMHO.

For this particular recipe, I like to use roughly 6-inch bamboo skewers.

As pictured, I used - 5.9" Acrylic Gem End Bamboo Skewers:

I used the ones with the green gem, to play up the “Greek” theme.

How to Make Greek Salad Skewers

The full recipe is in the recipe card at the end of this post, here is the pictorial walk through.

    Marinated Feta

In a small bowl, whisk together oil, vinegar, garlic, oregano, and mustard. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Use a sharp knife to cut feta cheese into 15 cubes or so (The number of cubes will determine how many skewers you’ll get). Blot lightly with a paper towel, then transfer to the bowl of marinade.

Gently toss to combine feta and marinade, making sure every cube of feta is coated.

Cover with plastic wrap - or transfer to an airtight container - and chill for at least 1 hour.

Cut the cucumber into ¼-1/2" slices, then cut each cucumber slice in half.

A two part image showing the cucumber being cut into thick slices, then each slice cut in half.

Thread skewer ingredients onto a 6-inch skewer - 1 piece of cucumber, 1 pitted olive, a piece of feta cheese, a tomato, another olive, then finishing with a second piece of cucumber.

A 5 part image showing the greek salad skewer ingredients being threaded on bamboo skewers.

    Repeat with remaining ingredients.

All of the skewers laid out on a stovetop.

Arrange skewers on a serving platter and serve immediately, or cover serving plate and chill until use.

Should be used within a day or two.
